DAILY ITINERARY Day 1: Arrive Salt Lake City Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Your Tour Director is available this afternoon. This evening, join the other families on the tour for a Welcome Drink. Day 2: Salt Lake City/Jackson Head into Wyoming and the spectacular Rocky Mountains. Cross the Oregon Trail and follow the historic Snake River to Jackson. There is time on your own this afternoon to explore this authentic Old West town. Tonight, enjoy a fun-filled western-style chuckwagon dinner and show. (FB,D) Day 3: Jackson/Yellowstone National Park Early this morning, you might want to join an optional float trip down the beautiful Snake River. Later, head north through Grand Teton National Park to Yellowstone. Stop at Old Faithful Visitor Center and see the eruption of the famous geyser. (FB) Day 4: Yellowstone National Park On a guided wildlife tour, search for the more than 60 species of mammals and 200 species of birds who make their homes here. Then visit the "Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center," an educational facility devoted to the preservation of bears and wolves in Yellowstone. The rest of the day is free to explore with the family. (FB) Day 5: Yellowstone/Cody/Sheridan Travel via beautiful Shoshone Canyon and the rugged Absaroka Mountains to Cody. Stop and visit the Buffalo Bill Historical Center to learn more about this celebrated wild west figure. Then continue over the scenic Bighorn Mountains to the High Plains and Sheridan. (FB,D) Day 6: Sheridan/Keystone Explore the historic gold-rush town of Deadwood where the legendary Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane lived. Stop at Kevin Costner's museum to the buffalo, Tatanka. Then board the 1880 Train, a vintage steam train that travels across the striking beauty of the Black Hills to Keystone at the base of Mount Rushmore. This evening experience the dramatic and moving light show at Mount Rushmore National Monument. (FB) Day 7: Black Hills Excursion Drive through Bear Country USA and view the incredible variety of wild animals that once roamed the Black Hills. Then visit Mount Rushmore and view the monumental work-in-progress of Crazy Horse Memorial, the world's largest sculpture. Tour an active paleontological dig at the amazing Mammoth Site Museum. A farewell evening with your new friends starts with dinner followed by a fun-filled miniature golf tournament in an old gold mine setting. (FB,D) Day 8: Keystone/Depart Rapid City or Denver Transfer to Rapid City Regional Airport or Denver International Airport. On the way to Denver, visit Fort Laramie, the best-known milepost on the Oregon Trail. A stop will be made at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Denver for passengers wishing to extend their stay in Denver.
