DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1: Depart USA Board your overnight transatlantic flight (cost not included in land only price).

Day 2: Arrive in Paris, France Welcome to France! After checking in, there is time to relax or start exploring on your own. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Reception followed by a drive through the city. Accommodation: Courtyard By Marriott Hotel Paris Neuilly or similar. (Welcome Reception)

Day 3: Paris/Rouen/Bayeux A tour with a Local Guide includes views of the Champs Élysées, Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame Cathedral. Then drive to the artist’s district of Montmartre and ride the funicular to the Place du Tertre. Take a walking tour of the area around the Sacre Coeur Basilica. Next, travel to Rouen, where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. On to Honfleur, and finally arrive in Bayeux. Accommodation: Hotel Novotel Bayeux or similar. (B,D)

Day 4: Bayeux/D-Day Landing Beaches/Mont St. Michel Make a somber visit to the D-Day landing beaches and the Omaha military cemetery. Then, at the Tapestry Museum, see the famous Bayeux Tapestry, which depicts the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The rest of the day is at leisure. Accommodation: La Relais du Roy or similar. (B,D)

Day 5: Mont St. Michel/Loire Valley/Amboise Stop in Mont St. Michel for a visit to the Benedictine Abbey. Then travel to the Loire Valley, renowned for its châteaux and fine wines. In the town of Azay-le-Rideau enjoy a You’re Personally Invited experience at a wine château. Meet the family who have lived here for generations and taste their wine along with delicious snacks. Later on to Amboise. Accommodation: Novotel Hotel Amboise or similar. (B, PID)

Day 6: Châteaux Excursion Visit fairytale Chenonceau on the River Cher. The beauty of its architecture is reflected in the water and complemented by magnificent gardens. The château also houses fine collections of Renaissance furniture, priceless tapestries and works of art. Return to Amboise to visit the château where King François I spent much of his childhood. As a guest of the King, Leonardo da Vinci came to Château Amboise in December 1515, and lived and worked in the nearby Clos Lucé. Accommodation: Novotel Hotel Amboise or similar. (B)

Day 7: Amboise/Chambord/Chartes/Paris This morning, visit Chambord, the most recognizable castle in the Loire Valley. Then drive to Chartres to visit the cathedral and marvel at its stained glass rose window. Continue to the glittering city of Paris. Accommodation: Hilton La Defense or similar. (B)

Day 8: Paris at Leisure Start the morning with an ascent to the second level of the Eiffel Tower and take in the splendid views of the city. The rest of the day is free. Perhaps browse around the Left Bank, take a Seine cruise to view the beauty of Paris from a different perspective or visit the vast Louvre Museum. Later, enjoy a festive Farewell Dinner with wine. Day 9: Depart Paris You will be transferred to the airport (conditions apply) where your vacation ends. (B)
