ITINERARY
Day 1 ARRIVE JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA.
Welcome to a land so vast and diverse that its inhabitants call it “A World in One Country.” On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2, JOHANNESBURG / MPUMALANGA.
Head northeast and travel through historic towns and stunning scenery. Climb famous Long Tom Pass and arrive in Pilgrim's Rest. This afternoon is free to explore this "living museum," once a thriving gold mining town. (B,D)
Day 3, MPUMALANGA / KRUGER NATIONAL PARK.
Continue your journey, stopping to view the glory of “God's Window” and spectacular Blyde River Canyon. Then on into world-famous Kruger National Park. (B,D)
Day 4, KRUGER NATIONAL PARK.
An exciting day on safari! Set off in an open safari vehicle in search of lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard, and more. (B)
Day 5, KRUGER NATIONAL PARK / SWAZILAND.
Enjoy a scenic drive to the tiny Kingdom of Swaziland. Learn about Swazi culture, then visit the famous Ngwenya Glass Works to see master craftsmen at work. On to the capital city of Mbabane, known for its woven baskets, beadwork and carvings. Then travel to the beautiful Ezulwini Valley, in Swaziland. (B,L,D)
Day 6, SWAZILAND / ZULULAND.
Start the day with a visit to the Swazi Candle Factory. Then on to Zululand, viewing traditional round huts and breathtaking vistas. This afternoon, arrive in the town of St. Lucia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. (B)
Day 7, ZULULAND / DURBAN.
Take a cruise on picturesque Lake St. Lucia this morning. Then travel to Durban, where your afternoon is free. (B)
Day 8, DURBAN / PORT ELIZABETH / KNYSNA.
Bid your first Tour Director farewell and board your flight to Port Elizabeth. Here, meet your new Tour Director and head out to the Tsitsikamma Forest and Knysna. (B,D)
Day 9, KNYSNA.
Delight on a cruise on Knysna Lagoon and visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve. The rest of the day is free. (B,L)
Day 10, KNYSNA / CANGO CAVES / OUDTSHOORN.
Travel west along the Garden Route. Stop for a tour of an ostrich farm. Then see the Cango Caves, one of South Africa’s most incredible natural wonders. (B,L)
Day 11, OUDTSHOORN / CAPE TOWN.
Enjoy a day of magnificent vistas as you travel to Cape Town. (B)
Day 12, CAPE PENINSULA EXCURSION.
Visit the fishing village of Hout Bay, then journey to Boulders Beach to meet one of the Cape's adorable creatures, African penguins. Your day ends with a drive through Simon's Town. (B)
Day 13, Fri. WINELANDS EXCURSION.
Journey to the Cape Winelands. Stop at two estates and sample some of their fine wines. See the Huguenot Memorial and Afrikaans Language Monument. (B)
Day 14, DEPART CAPE TOWN.
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
