DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1 BOARD YOUR OVERNIGHT TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT.

Day 2 ARRIVE JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA.
Welcome to a land so vast and diverse that its inhabitants call it “A World in One Country.” On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the heart of Rosebank, one of the city’s most exclusive neighborhoods.

Day 3, Mon. JOHANNESBURG / PRETORIA / MPUMALANGA.
Drive to Pretoria, South Africa's capital city. See the Voortrekker Monument and the world famous Premier Diamond Mines, which produced the Cullinan, Africa's biggest diamond. After lunch, head towards Mpumalanga. Overnight in Pilgrims Rest. (B,L,D)

Day 4, Tue. MPUMALANGA / KRUGER NATIONAL PARK.
There is time to explore the historic little gold mining town of Pilgrims Rest. Continue your journey, stopping to view the glory of “God's Window” and spectacular Blyde River Canyon. Then on into Kruger National Park, your home for the next two nights. (B,D)

Day 5, Wed. KRUGER NATIONAL PARK.
An exciting day on safari! Have your camera ready as you set off in an open safari vehicle in search of lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard, and more. You will be captivated by the magic of this vast wilderness. (B)

Day 6, Thu. KRUGER NATIONAL PARK / SWAZILAND.
Enjoy a scenic drive to the tiny Kingdom of Swaziland. Learn about Swazi culture, then visit the famous Ngwenya Glass Works to see master craftsmen at work. On to the capital city of Mbabane, then travel to the beautiful Ezulwini Valley. (B,L,D)

Day 7, Fri. SWAZILAND / ZULULAND.
Start the day with a visit to the Swazi Candle Factory, offering unique handmade candles in every shape and color imaginable. Then on to Zululand, viewing traditional round huts and breathtaking vistas. This afternoon, arrive in the town of St. Lucia, a World Heritage Site. Perhaps, join an optional outing to the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, home to the “Big Five.” (B)

Day 8, Sat. ZULULAND / DURBAN.
Take a cruise on picturesque Lake St. Lucia this morning. Then leave the Zulu Kingdom behind, traveling along the lush KwaZulu-Natal coastline en-route to Durban. Arrive by noon and begin exploring the city. There is an optional Durban city tour available as well. (B)

Day 9, Sun. DURBAN / PORT ELIZABETH / KNYSNA.
Transfer to the airport where you will bid your first Tour Director farewell, and board your flight to Port Elizabeth. On arrival, meet your new Tour Director and head out to visit the Tsitsikamma Forest. Then on to Knysna, a gem on the Garden Route. (B,D)

Day 10, Mon. KNYSNA.
Delight on a cruise on the spectacular Knysna Lagoon and visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve, where you will take a trailer-train to the lookout point on the Western Head. After lunch, the rest of the day is free to explore the town on your own. (B,L)

Day 11, Tue. KNYSNA / CANGO CAVES / OUDTSHOORN.
This morning board the nostalgic Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe steam train, and enjoy the scenic ride from Knysna to Wilderness. Learn about the unusual and enigmatic ostrich during a tour of an ostrich farm. Then make a fascinating visit to the Cango Caves, one of South Africa’s most incredible natural wonders. (B,L)

Note: May 01-August 31, enjoy the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe train on Monday afternoon (day 10) instead of an afternoon at leisure.

Day 12, Wed. OUDTSHOORN / CAPE TOWN.
Enjoy a   day of magnificent vistas and ever changing scenery as you travel to Cape Town. (B)

Day 13, Thu. CAPE PENINSULA EXCURSION.
Enjoy a full day exploring the ruggedly beautiful Cape Peninsula, including the Cape of Good Hope. Visit the fishing village of Hout Bay, then journey to Boulders Beach to meet one of the Cape's adorable creatures, African penguins. Your day ends with a drive through quaint naval village of Simon's Town. (B)

Day 14, Fri. WINELANDS EXCURSION.
Journey to the picturesque Cape Winelands. Stop at two well-known estates in Paarl and Stellenbosch and sample some of South Africa's finest wines. See the Huguenot Memorial and the Afrikaans Language Monument, then return to Cape Town, where the evening is free. (B)

Day 15, Sat. DEPART CAPE TOWN.
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)

Day 15, Sat. CAPE TOWN / VICTORIA FALLS, ZAMBIA.
Transfer to the airport and fly to Johannesburg then on to Victoria Falls. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Later enjoy a cruise on the Zambezi River aboard the African Queen. (B)

Day 16, Sun. VICTORIA FALLS.
Marvel on a tour of Victoria Falls, “discovered” by David Livingstone in 1855. The tumbling water plunges into a vertical boiling chasm 355 feet below and produces spray that can be seen 50 miles away! See the Devil’s Cataract and walk through the rainforest to the best view points. Ideas for your free time include the Mkuni village, where you can experience local African life, visit the market and see the Livingstone Museum. (B)

Day 17, Mon. VICTORIA FALLS / DEPART JOHANNESBURG.
There is time this morning to take the optional "Flight of the Angels" for a bird’s eye view. This afternoon, return to Johannesburg for your onward flight. (B)
