DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive San Francisco Welcome to San Francisco! Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Your Tour Director will be on hand this afternoon to welcome you and answer questions.

Day 2: San Francisco/Redwoods Travel into California's picturesque Sonoma Wine Country and stop at a local winery for a guided tour and wine tasting. At Richardson Grove State Park, take a walk through an old-growth redwood forest. On to the historic Benbow Inn on the banks of the Eel River. This evening get together for a Welcome Drink and dinner. (FB,D)

Day 3: Redwoods/Gold Beach Journeyalong the world-renowned "Avenue of the Giants," the most outstanding display of giant California redwood trees in the state. Stop in the beautiful Victorian seaport of Eureka and stroll along the restored boardwalk. Admire the city's magnificietn houses, including William Carson Mansion, one of the most photographed Victorian homes in the United States. Then journey through Redwood National Park and cross the border into Oregon. Board a jetboat for a thrilling ride along the scenic Rogue River and enjoy the spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife. Day 4: Gold Beach/Oregon Coast/Newport Travel along the Oregon Coast, and area renowned for its dramatic landscape and breathtakeing visitas. At the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, take an exhilarating dune buggy ride climing and descending through some of the impressive dunes. Stop for photos of the beautiful Heceta Head Lighthouse, a working lighthouse perched on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Continue north, arriving in the seaside town of Newport. Tonight, enjoy a fun bonfire and s'mores party on the beach. (FB)

Day 5: Newport/Portland Following the cost north, turn inland and visit the Evergreen Aviation Museum, home to Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose. Then drive through the scenic Willamette Valley, Oregon's premier wine country, and arrive in Portland. Enjoy an orientation tour featuring the city's main landmarks and visit the world-famous International Rose Test Garden. (FB,D)

Day 6: Columbia River Gorge Excursion Explore the spectacular Columbia River Gorge, filled with dramactic scenery. At Bonneville Dam, learn about the Lewis and Clark expedition and the pioneers on the Oregon Trail. On the way back to Portland, stop at Multnomah Falls, cascading some 620 feet in frothy splendor. At Crown Point, enjoy breathtaking views over the gorge. Then afternoon and evening are at leisure in Portland. (FB)

Day 7: Portland/Olymic National Park Visit the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center and learn about the volcanic blast of May 18, 1980. Continue west to the remote and rugged coast of Olympic National Park. Crashing waves, rugged headlands and long sandy beaches are yours to enjoy on this stunning stretch of the Washington coast. Visit the Hoh Rainforest and take a short walk to the "Hall of Mosses." Tonight, delight in a spectaculr sunset from your hotel located on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean. (FB,D)

Day 8: Olympic National Park/ Puget Sound/Seattle Journey through glaier-capped mountains and along the wild Pacific coast. Then ferry across Puget Sound to Seattle while enjoying the best views of the city from the water. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a Farewell Dinner. (FB,D)

Day 9: Depart Seattle Transfer to Seattle's SeaTac Airport for your flight home. (FB)
