ITINERARY
Day 1, ARRIVE NAIROBI, KENYA.
Upon arrival in Kenya’s modern capital, you will be transferred from the airport to your hotel. The remainder of the day free.
Day 2, NAIROBI / AMBOSELI
After breakfast, leave Nairobi, heading for Amboseli National Park. This afternoon, experience your first game drive. Amboseli is set at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, towering 19,430 feet above the plains. (B,L,D)
Day 3, AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK.
Have your camera ready on morning and afternoon game drives. Amboseli is known for superb elephant viewing, as well as a great place to watch for giraffes, cape buffalo and lions. (B,L,D)
Day 4, AMBOSELI / ARUSHA, TANZANIA / LAKE MANYARA
Drive to the border at Namanga. After clearing customs, travel into Tanzania and on to Arusha. Make a stop for lunch, then continue to Lake Manyara. Head to your lodge perched high on a rim overlooking the valley, keeping your eyes open for elephants, lions, hippos, and hundreds of species of birds that make their home here. (B,L,D)
Day 5, LAKE MANYARA /SERENGETI.
Take one last game drive in Lake Manyara National Park this morning, then on to the legendary Serengeti. Covering 5,600 square miles, Serengeti National Park is home to one of the largest and most diverse wild animal populations on earth. (B,L,D)
Day 6, SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK.
Delight in a full day of relaxing at your lodge and game viewing. Wildebeest, Thompson’s gazelle and zebra gather for annual migrations, attracting a great deal of attention from the big cats - lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena. (B,L,D)
Day 7, SERENGETI / NGORONGORO CRATER.
Travel to Olduvai Gorge, the site of Louis and Mary Leakey's renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of man's earliest ancestral remains. After a picnic lunch, continue to your lodge, set high on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. (B,L,D)
Day 8, NGORONGORO CRATER.
Descend 2,000 feet into this extinct collapsed volcano to experience spectacular game viewing. Vast herds of zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, and their predators roam the crater floor. Look for the rare black rhino grazing in the lakes. (B,L,D)
Day 9, NGORONGORO / TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Travel to Tarangire National Park. There is time for lunch at your lodge before an afternoon game drive. Search for elephants, elands, impala, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and birds of prey. (B,L,D)
Day 10, TARANGIRE / DEPART NAIROBI
Have your camera ready as you drive from Tarangire to Arusha. Stop for lunch, then on to the border at Namanga. Continue to Nairobi* for a Farewell Dinner at famous Carnivore Restaurant. Then transfer to Nairobi airport for your overnight departure flight. (B,L,D)
*NOTE: You may purchase an option to fly back to Nairobi rather than drive. This option also includes access to a VIP lounge in Nairobi where you may relax and freshen up (including shower) before having dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant.

PLEASE NOTE: A visa is required for U.S. citizens for Kenya and Tanzania. Non-U.S. citizens should check with their respective consulates.
It is prudent to consult your physician regarding taking anti-malaria pills. Proof is needed of yellow fever vaccination for travel between Tanzania and Kenya.
As some East African roads and game park trails can be very rough, we do not recommend this tour to people with back problems.
Soft-sided luggage is recommended on all safaris.
It is customary to reward your safari driver/ guide with a gratuity of about $7-$10 per day per tour member for a good performance.
