ITINERARY
Day 2 ARRIVE NAIROBI, KENYA.
You are transferred from the airport to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 2 NAIROBI / MASAI MARA.
Meet your safari guide and depart for the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Drive through the spectacular Great Rift Valley, arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. This afternoon, enjoy a game drive in Masai Mara National Park, which boasts the richest concentration of wildlife in Kenya. (B,L,D)
Day 3 MASAI MARA.
Enjoy early morning and afternoon game drives, affording opportunities to search for the "big five" elephants, buffalos, rhinos, lions and leopards. The adventurous can take an optional hot air balloon ride to see this magnificent park from a bird’s eye view. (B,L,D)
Day 4 MASAI MARA / GREAT RIFT VALLEY / LAKE NAKURU
This morning, travel through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru, considered the finest place on earth for birdwatching. See cormorants, pelicans, hornbills, and the most spectacular of wildlife spectacles thousands of birds, mainly flamingos, lining the banks of the lake, stretching out across the water in a pink haze. After lunch, enjoy a game drive in this relatively small park which has been designated a rhino sanctuary. (B,L,D)
Day 5 LAKE NAKURU / NAIROBI / AMBOSELI.
Head back to Nairobi, then on to Amboseli National Park. Amboseli sits at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, towering 19,430 feet above the plains. Your game viewing starts this afternoon. (B,L,D)
Day 6 AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK.
A full day of game viewing beginning with an early morning game drive. Watch for giraffes, cape buffalo and lions today. Amboseli is also renowned for its superb viewing of elephants. (B,L,D)
Day 7 AMBOSELI / ARUSHA / LAKE MANYARA, TANZANIA.
Cross the border into Tanzania at Namanga, then on to Arusha. Drive across the Masai Steppe to Lake Manyara. Elephants, lions, hippos, and hundreds of species of birds make their homes here. Your lodge is perched high on the hill, overlooking the valley. (B,L,D)
Day 8 LAKE MANYARA / SERENGETI.
After breakfast there is time for one last game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Return to the lodge for lunch, and then on to legendary Serengeti National Park. Watch for game en route to your lodge, arriving as the sun sets. (B,L,D)
Day 9 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK.
Delight in a full day of game viewing in the Serengeti, which covers 5,600 square miles and is home to a variety of animals. Wildebeest, Thompson’s gazelle and zebra gather for annual migrations, attracting a great deal of attention from their predators – lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena. (B,L,D)
Day 10 SERENGETI / NGORONGORO.
Travel across the Serengeti Plains to Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey's renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of man's earliest known ancestral remains. After a picnic lunch, continue to your lodge set high on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. (B,L,D)
Day 11 NGORONGORO CRATER.
Descend through the morning mist and more than 2,000 feet to Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa's most captivating wildlife areas. Due to its size, this volcanic caldera is comprised of several distinct areas of flora and fauna. Vast herds of zebra, wildebeest, gazelle and their predators roam the crater. Look for the rare black rhino grazing in and near the lakes. Later, visit a Masaai village then return to the lodge for dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 12 NGORONGORO / TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK.
Travel to Tarangire National Park. There is time for lunch at your lodge before an afternoon game drive. Search for elephants, elands, impala, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and birds of prey. (B,L,D)
Day 13 TARANGIRE / DEPART NAIROBI.
One last opportunity to watch for game as you drive back to Arusha. After a stop for lunch, continue your journey to Nairobi*. Enjoy a Farewell Dinner at the world-renown Carnivore Restaurant. Then you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home. (B,L,D)
*NOTE: You may purchase an option to fly back to Nairobi rather than drive. This option also includes access to a VIP lounge in Nairobi where you may relax and freshen up (including shower) before having dinner at the Crnivore Restaurant.

PLEASE NOTE: Check with your travel agent for the latest visa, passport and health requirements for East Africa. A visa is required for U.S. citizens for Kenya and Tanzania. Non-U.S. citizens should check with their respective consulates.
It is prudent to consult your physician regarding taking anti-malaria pills. Proof is needed of yellow fever vaccination for travel between Tanzania and Kenya.
As some East African roads and game park trails can be very rough, we do not recommend this tour to people with back problems.
Soft-sided luggage is recommended on all safaris.
It is customary to reward your safari driver/ guide with a gratuity of about $7-$10 per day per tour member for a good performance.
