DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive San Diego Welcome to the sunny San Diego. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Your Tour Director is available this afternoon to welcome you and answer questions.

Day 2: San Diego A morning city tour highlights the quaint Gaslamp Quarter, the bustling Embarcadero, Balboa Park and historic Old Town. The afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps visit the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, or join an optional excursion to Mexico. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a Welcome Drink and dinner at a local specialty restaurant.. (FB,D)

Day 3: San Diego/San Juan Capistrano/Beverly Hills Journey north and visit Mission San Juan Capistrano, one of the original missions built by the Spanish. On to legendary Hollywood for a guided tour of the Kodak Theatre, home of the famous Academy Awards Ceremonies. See Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and drive along the fabled Sunset Strip to the palm-lined streets of Beverly Hills. The evening is free to explore Beverly Hills, including famous Rodeo Drive. (FB)

Day 4: Beverly Hills/Santa Barbara/Cambria Visit the J. Paul Getty Museum with its fabulous art collections and spectacular grounds overlooking the city and Pacific Ocean. Then follow the coast north to Santa Barbara, one of California's most beautiful cities with spectacular Mediterranean architecture. Finally, arrive at the quaint seaside town of Cambria. (FB,D)

Day 5: Cambria/San Simeon/Monterey A short drive along the coast brings you to San Simeon for a guided tour of Hearst Castle. Built on a hilltop overlooking the Pacific, the spectacular grounds and grandiose home feature the world-class art collection of newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst. Then travel north through the rolling hills of California's Central Coast, dotted with vineyards and wineries. Stop at the artist colony of Carmel with time to stroll down tree-lined Ocean Avenue with its quirky shops and art galleries. Ride along the scenic 17 Mile Drive, home to the famous Lone Cypress and Pebble Beach Golf Course, to the historic seaside town of Monterey, where Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf reflect the city's long history with the sea. Day 6: Monterey/Sierra Nevada Mountains/Yosemite Journey inland through the fertile San Joaquin Valley, known as the breadbasket of California. Stop at an historic fruit stand for a chance to buy fresh-off-the-farm fruit. Then travel through the Sierra Nevada Mountains to Yosemite National Park. Enter Yosemite Valley and view the giant iconic formations of El Capitan and Half Dome and breathtaking Yosemite Falls, the highest in North America. Enjoy a stroll along the Merced River and take in the immense beauty of this spectacular setting. (FB,D)

Day 7: Yosemite/Napa/Sonoma/San Francisco Head west to the wine regions of Napa and Sonoma. Take a scenic drive along the Carneros Highway through rolling hills covered with vineyards and stop for a guided winery tour and tasting. Then cross the majestic Golden Gate Bridge and arrive in the city-by-the-bay, San Francisco. (FB)

Day 8: San Francisco A morning tour features Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, the Victorian mansions of Pacific Heights, the hills of the Presidio and Golden Gate Park. The afternoon is at leisure. This evening, join your fellow passengers for a festive Farewell Dinner at a popular restaurant on Fisherman's Wharf. (FB,D)

Day 9: Depart San Francisco Transfer to San Francisco International Airport for your flight home. (FB)
