Adele in time for dinner and a free evening. (FB,D) Day 5: Ste. Adele/Quebec City Leave the forests, lakes and rivers of the Laurentians behind on the way to remarkable Quebec City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded in 1608 as a trading post on the St. Lawrence River, the walled city quickly grew to be the second largest city in Quebec. Today, the city is a mecca for visitors from around the world. With outstanding architecture, splendid natural beauty, superb museums, galleries, boutiques and more, Quebec has something for everyone. (FB,D) Day 6: Quebec City A locally guided tour of Quebec City includes the narrow streets of the walled city, the Citadel and the Plains of Abraham, site of a major colonial battle between the British and French. Travel north of the city to visit the Basilica of Ste. Anne de Beaupre and see Montmorency Falls. This afternoon, there is time on your own to explore this historic city. (FB) Day 7: Quebec City/Montreal Leave old-world Quebec for modern Montreal, the cultural capital of French Canada and the largest French-speaking city outside of France. Here a locally guided tour highlights the historic sites of Vieux Montreal and the Old Port, the modern contrasts of the bustling downtown and lovely views from Mount Royal Park. Dinner tonight is at a local restaurant.
